How long does Linksight retain your personal data?

Linksight does not retain your personal data longer than necessary for the purpose of the processing. The retention period depends on several factors:

  • Applicable laws and regulations, such as tax legislation or the Dutch Archives Act 1995;
  • The nature of the relationship with the data subject, such as customer or applicant;
  • The necessity of retaining data in relation to (future) legal procedures.

How does Linksight secure your personal data?

Linksight considers it very important that the personal data you provide is handled and protected with the utmost care. To optimally protect your personal data from loss, theft, unauthorized access, or misuse, Linksight takes appropriate technical and organizational measures. These include measures to ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of your data through physical and technical access controls.

Does Linksight share personal data with other organizations?

Linksight shares data with other individuals or organizations only when necessary. “Necessary” means situations in which Linksight is legally required to disclose personal data. This always concerns special circumstances such as compliance with applicable laws or legal proceedings.

In addition, Linksight uses IT systems that are not managed in-house. Your data is then processed in these systems on behalf of Linksight. Linksight ensures that only systems with an appropriate level of data protection are used and enters into data processing agreements with vendors to ensure this.

Below are the main categories of recipients who may process your personal data:

  • IT services, web and data hosting providers
  • Payment processors
  • Legal advisors and accountants
  • Courts of law

What are your privacy rights?

Under privacy legislation, you have various rights to retain control over the personal data an organization collects and uses about you. For example, you have the right to access and rectify your data. This right is intended to allow you to check whether your data is correct and to request corrections if necessary. You can also check whether Linksight has used your data lawfully. In addition to the right of access, you have the right to object to data processing by Linksight.

If you wish to exercise your privacy rights, you can send an email to privacy@linksight.nl. After submitting your completed request, you will receive an automatic confirmation by email. Linksight may ask you to identify yourself as part of the request.

Your request will always be considered. However, this does not mean that your request will automatically be granted. Privacy legislation also includes exceptions where your privacy rights may not apply.

You will receive a response within one month. If we are unable to respond substantively within that time, you will be informed. Linksight must handle your request within a maximum of three months.

If you disagree with Linksight’s substantive response — e.g., if your request was partially or fully denied — you may file an objection with Linksight. If your objection is denied and you do not agree with that decision, you may then go to court or file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP). Depending on the nature of the issue, either a petition or summons procedure may be initiated. Alternatively, you can choose to report a privacy complaint to the AP.
